My heart plays this song for someone but it wouldn't really know who my penguin really would be in the end. So until then, uhm, to my future penguin? :)

His arrow's aiming for you and he's the one you were born to love

"If You Forget Me" by Pablo Neruda
I want you to know
one thing.
You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.
If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.
If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.
But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine
one thing.
You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,

Boom (Bass)
I am fresh from a break-up as I write this, and I just spent the afternoon with my brother and my headphones, singing (out of tune) and crying and singing (out of tune) again. It's crazy and emo and pathetic and therapeutic. Then Super Bass went on after quite a long line-up of mellow tracks. I just had to rap the few lines that I know and cry and put it on loop and cry again:
Me (teary-eyed): Gusto mo ako marinig mag-rap?
Brother (seriously looks into space and decides in disgust): Ha? Hindi na.
The very moment the conversation took place, it was so, so funny we broke into fits of laughter! Crazy, I am! :))

The L Word
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps record of no wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." -1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
I have been contemplating a lot about love lately and part of the process is reading the above passage over and over again, understanding and feeling each word and each sentence in the hopes that its truest meaning would stay in my heart until it becomes my own personal guideline on how to love someone right until I'm old and gray.

And just the day before yesterday, out of boredom, I popped in a DVD of A Walk To Remember. I didn't re-watch it; I just skipped to different scenes to aid my memory of the movie, which I last saw almost ten years ago. Then came the wedding part wherein the said passage was uttered (quite coincidentally and surprisingly for me) by the pastor (Jamie Sullivan's father).
Right then and there, I knew that this, indeed, is the real meaning of love and it's according to The Big Man Up There, no less. And I realized that no definition of true love can ever be more accurate, and a gift more beautiful to give to the next person I'd open up my heart to.

In fancy they pursue / the dream-child moving through a land / of wonders wild and new
Hello to this little white space that will serve as a vent for my chronic verbal diarrhea from this day forward.
Another blog move in the span of eight years, this one. Rite of passage? Maybe. Suffice it to say that it is always therapeutic to write things that are deeper and more personal. And with that, the need to be even more low-key (in terms of readership) arises.
Although everything here will be written for myself and not for an audience, I welcome whoever chances upon this secret (but not-so-secret) place. This is the WWW, after all. So, welcome! :)
Here's to new beginnings! :)
